Manchester United’s midfield rebuild looks set to kick off with Ineos’ ideal signing after what Ederson has just done.
The transfer window at Man Utd this summer is expected to be a big one, and the preliminary quakes are already being felt.
Ederson is at the top of those quakes, as multiple sources have reported that his signing is as good as done, with Man Utd’s green light the only thing pending.
That could arrive now that the Brazilian has done what will raise his profile in Ineos’ eyes.

What are your thoughts on Ederson being linked to Man Utd? Is he what we need?
Ederson ticks major Ineos box for Man Utd signing
Since arriving at the club, Ineos haven’t been shy about opening the chequebook to sign players.
Close to £250m was spent last summer despite the club not being in any European competitions, so the will to spend is clearly not an issue.
Where they do draw a line is if they sense that the player himself is not committed, which is why United’s dressing room is in a much better place today.
They achieved that by signing players only if they want to play for United and nobody else, which is exactly what Ederson has made clear now.
Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, has said that Ederson is giving ‘total’ priority to Man Utd despite calls from other clubs.
He said: “Despite other clubs calling him in recent days to ask about the price tag, Ederson is giving total priority to Man Utd.
“He wants to go to Man Utd. He’s giving them total priority. Obviously, they are waiting for Man Utd’s green light, but Ederson is really tempted and open to joining eventually.”
Man Utd’s last summer signings would approve
Ederson’s stance about joining Man Utd and nobody else will be approved by last summer’s signings, all of whom did the same thing.

The likes of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko, and Senne Lammens rebuffed approaches from other clubs in favour of joining United.
Ederson has taken the same step now, which makes him the ideal signing in Ineos’ eyes, and a valuable addition to a professional dressing room.
Furthermore, Ederson’s stance is even more appreciable, considering he is reportedly looked at as a rotation option instead of a starter.
Not only is he rejecting other clubs, but he’s also doing so by betting on himself and backing himself to earn a starter role eventually.
Those are exactly the kind of players who drive the standards at the club and keep the starters on their toes.
