The underlying story to Manchester United considering hiring Mauricio Pochettino, is that Paris Saint-Germain will not put up much of a fight to let him go. Compensation fee and legal wrangling aside, PSG are reportedly prepared to let the Argentine depart, ESPN report, even though their official position is currently to stick by him.
Behind the scenes in Paris, moves are reportedly afoot to bring aboard long-time managerial target Zinedine Zidane, who aside from his legendary status as a France player, has won the trophy as a manager which PSG crave, the Champions League.

Le10Sport report Pochettino is unhappy by the ongoing Zidane rumours, which the outlet first reported in November, with Foot01.com reporting he is ‘disturbed’ by the uncertainty.
German newspaper BILD reported this week Zidane remains a top target for PSG, and he wants to make RB Leipzig star Christian Nkunku his top transfer target.
ESPN reported last month Nkunku had been added to United’s shortlist of potential signings at Ralf Rangnick’s request. The attacker has 26 goals this season, plus 12 assists, 38 goal contributions in all. He has just earned his first call-up to the France squad.

Marca have consistently pushed the Zidane to PSG rumour, while Afrique Sports claim PSG have even lined up Roberto Mancini as a back-up option, spelling further doubts over Pochettino’s future.
Canal report PSG even want Arsene Wenger to join Zidane, working as the club’s sporting director to replace Leonardo.

Looks bleak for Pochettino in Paris
What this succession of rumours shows, is that Pochettino is beginning to look doomed in Paris despite his impending title win. In the eyes of many, PSG’s mind was made up after their Champions League exit to Real Madrid.
The question is simply whether United want him, or go for Erik ten Hag. Former United star Nicky Butt threw his weight behind Pochettino this week.
Ten Hag is the fan favourite, although there is a fair case for Pochettino too. One way or another, he seems likely to depart PSG, and will then be on the lookout for his next role, regardless of whether that means Manchester United, or perhaps even pitching up back at former club Tottenham once Antonio Conte has finally had enough.
