World Cup winner suggests new Man Utd escape route for Rasmus Hojlund, Ineos surely won’t agree with his idea

Manchester United are chasing a new striker this summer, and Rasmus Hojlund’s immediate future remains unclear.

Manchester United beat West Ham United over the weekend, kicking off the Premier League Summer Series with a victory.

Bruno Fernandes was the star of the show as the United skipper bagged a brace, but there were encouraging signs from Rasmus Hojlund.

The Dane came in for huge criticism last season, as he managed just four goals in the Premier League.

Hojlund was a threat against West Ham, though, showing off blazing speed to outpace Max Kilman and go close to scoring.

Hojlund also fired a left-footed strike over the bar in the first half as he showed flashes of the player who impressed so much in the 2023-24 season.

World Cup winner wants Juventus to sign Rasmus Hojlund

Hojlund still has a long way to go in order to prove that he can be United’s starring striker for years to come.

This display against West Ham was encouraging, but United may still be inclined to field offers for the striker.

Juventus are interested in signing Hojlund, despite landing former Lille striker Jonathan David on a free transfer.

Hojlund has his doubters in England, but he is still highly-regarded in Italy after shining for Atalanta.

World Cup winner Luca Toni is one of those believers, telling La Gazzetta dello Sport that he would like to see Juventus sign Hojlund.

Former Juve striker Toni suggests that the Turin giants should look to bring Hojlund back to Serie A, possibly on loan.

Hojlund impressed Toni at Atalanta, and the Italian is urging Juventus to focus on that potential rather than his ‘difficulties’ at United.

“I’d bet on Hojlund, maybe on loan,” said Toni.

“During his season at Atalanta, before his move to Manchester United, he gave me great feelings. I’d base my decision on that, not on the difficulties he had in England,” he added.

Manchester United’s striking situation unclear

United would likely be open to selling Hojlund this summer, but a loan would surely need an obligation to buy, rather than an option.

Ineos surely won’t want to let Hojlund head out on loan without significant cash coming into the club.

United aren’t exactly blessed with great striking depth either, so any deal would surely have to be a sale.

Other strikers are on United’s radar, though, with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko targeted for a move to Old Trafford.

United’s ideal window may see Hojlund move on permanently and Sesko brought in as a replacement.

That looks tricky, though, with Newcastle pushing to sign Sesko and Juventus potentially unable to sign Hojlund permanently.

United need to wheel and deal this summer, but Amorim may need to prepare for the Premier League season with Hojlund as his leading striker.
