Manchester United youngster Will Fish is set to fly out to join Manchester United’s pre-season tour, report The Athletic.

Fish, 19, is being flown to Australia as a replacement for Axel Tuanzebe, who is set to return to England.

Question marks over Tuanzebe future

Tuanzebe was not part of Manchester United’s matchday squad for the pre-season friendly with Liverpool, although was one of the 31 players who flew to Thailand.

Teenage defender Will Fish is set to fly to Australia, where the rest of the squad have already flown to, ahead of Friday’s friendly match with Melbourne Victory.

Fish signed a new contract with United at the end of June, which runs to 2025. This will be his first pre-season tour.

Question marks remain over Tuanzebe’s future, despite the cited reasoning for his tour departure as a ‘small personal issue’.

Tuanzebe is the fifth choice centre-back at United at present, and will drop to sixth choice if the club succeed in signing Lisandro Martinez.

Turkish outlet Fanatik reported over the weekend that Trabzonspor are targeting Tuanzebe. Calciomercato reporter Daniele Longo claimed overnight he is a new target for Bournemouth.

It makes sense for Tuanzebe to find a new club where he can play regularly, after disappointing loans at Aston Villa and Napoli last season.

Whether transfer related or genuinely a personal matter, his departure from tour is Will Fish’s gain, and the youngster will hope to learn a lot training under Erik ten Hag.
