Diogo Dalot travelled to the Amex Stadium for Manchester United’s final game of the season, but the right-back was left out of the squad to face Brighton.
When it comes to the right-back position at Manchester United, Diogo Dalot has been Michael Carrick’s primary option since becoming head coach in January, initially on an interim basis.
The 27-year-old has been a mainstay in United’s defence again this season, making 34 appearances in the Premier League in a team that went from finishing 15th in the league table to third.
Dalot was left out of the match-day squad for the last game of the season, despite being spotted travelling with Carrick’s team to the Amex Stadium.

Diogo Dalot shows commitment after being ruled out Man Utd’s final game of the season
Dalot was spotted travelling to United’s final game of the season against Brighton, with multiple fans uploading pictures to social media with members of the squad.
Carrick made three changes to his line-up that faces Brighton at 4pm, including Noussair Mazraoui, who replaces Dalot at right-back.
There was no room for Dalot on the bench as he was left out of the squad.
According to Manchester Evening News reporter Steve Railston, Dalot was left out of the squad because Carrick wanted to give some opportunities to players who haven’t featured as much.
Dalot travelled with the squad regardless of that because he wanted to come down to support the team.
That shows how committed Dalot is to the team because nothing was stopping him from jetting off for a short holiday before linking up with his Portugal teammates for the 2026 World Cup.
