Manchester United summer signing Noussair Mazraoui is set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery.
The 26-year-old has impressed at Old Trafford this season following his £13m move from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
Noussair Mazraoui arrived alongside Mathhijs de Ligt in a double deal as Erik ten Hag looked to strengthen his defensive department.
Since his arrival, Diogo Dalot has been pushed to left-back and Mazraoui has started in all seven of United’s Premier League matches this season.
Ten Hag has been full of praise for Mazraoui’s “tremendous” start with United, and he was quickly emerging as one of the best Premier League bargains from the summer window.

Noussair Mazraoui has undergone surgery on heart issue
There was concern at United after Mazraoui withdrew from the Morocco squad ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this week.
He is one of several United players who were called up for international duty but dropped out with Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo also withdrawing.
United described Mazraoui’s withdrawal as a “precaution” but it has now been reported by The Athletic that Mazraoui has undergone minor surgery after experiencing heart palpitations.
Mazraoui was taken off at half-time by Erik ten Hag during United’s goalless draw against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The report adds that sources close to United and the player expect Mazraoui to make a full recovery after undergoing surgery.
When will Noussair Mazraoui return for Man United
Mazraoui had a patchy injury record at Bayern Munich but this appears to be a completely independent issue to previous setbacks.
The good news for United is that Mazraoui should make a full recovery fairly quickly.
The Athletic report adds that Mazraoui “hopes to be available to play in the next few weeks”.
