There were some really poor performances from the first-team squad. The manager and his coaching staff have some serious work to do ahead of a tough December run of fixtures.
Steve McClaren, a part of Ten Hag’s right-hand men, had to make United players do something at full-time – which speaks absolute volumes.

According to ESPN Journalist, Rob Dawson – Steve McClaren had to wait at the top of the tunnel to tell some Manchester United players to turn around and applaud the fans.
He took to X to state the following:
‘Worst bit about tonight was that Steve McClaren had to wait at the top of the tunnel to tell some United players to turn around and applaud the fans.’
He added: ‘They’ve travelled hundreds of miles on a freezing day to watch that dross and they can’t even get a clap. Joke.’
This is truly shocking. To put in a performance like Manchester United did – the least they can do is go and applaud the adoring fans who travelled for hours to watch the ‘dross’ in the freezing cold weather.
Steve McClaren’s act speaks volumes
Although the players aren’t specified, McClaren’s act clearly shows that some players still don’t know what it means to play for the club.
The fans are what make Manchester United so special and to not even acknowledge them after a lacklustre performance is unacceptable.
McClaren has been at the club during times of success and is going through the troubled waters now – but his ethics remain the same and it’s good news we have someone on the coaching staff with his morales alongside Ten Hag.
