Noah Ajayi is one of Manchester United’s most exciting academy prospects, and he plays in a position that Michael Carrick needs to strengthen.
Last month, Michael Carrick confirmed that Manchester United would be in the market for a new left winger.
However, it now seems that United will head into next season with Matheus Cunha and Patrick Dorgu as the two options off the left.
That leaves space for a potential academy promotion, and Noah Ajayi is in a strong position to fight for a first-team spot.

Noah Ajayi has wowed Man United academy staff
This season, Ajayi has been in exceptional form in the academy, playing a key role in the run to the FA Youth Cup final and scoring in the Premier League Cup final against Crystal Palace last week.
According to The Athletic, Ajayi has made quite an impression on staff around Carrington.
The report states that coaches are “highly impressed” by Ajayi and how easy he is to work with.
It adds that the 17-year-old talent has a strong work ethic both on and off the pitch. He is “eager” to study tape and videos to assess and analyse his performances.
Ajayi has three footballing role models he learns from, and he is taking strides towards becoming a first-team option for Michael Carrick.

Cunha has enjoyed a wonderful debut season at United and he has made that left-wing spot his own. But with four competitions to fight for in 2026/27, Carrick needs depth.

While United fans are understandably concerned at the left-wing situation, Ajayi offers a solution that stays rooted to trusting in the academy.
