Lisandro Martinez proved exactly why actions speak louder than words after Manchester United fans spotted his reaction following the loss to Tottenham.
Manchester United underwhelmed against Tottenham on Sunday, with Ange Postecoglou’s men inflicting a devastating 3-0 defeat on the Red Devils.
Brennan Johnson broke the deadlock in only the third minute of the Premier League tie at Old Trafford after firing Tottenham into the lead against United.
United’s woes in the first half piled on further after club captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off, with Erik ten Hag’s men reduced to 10 men for the second half.
Dejan Kulusevski extended Spurs’ lead only two minutes into the second half before Dominic Solanke netted Tottenham’s third to seal an emphatic win for his side.

Martinez after Man Utd defeat to Tottenham
Erik ten Hag’s men had disappointed last week with the start of their Europa League campaign after their 1-1 draw against FC Twente at Old Trafford.
The 54-year-old United boss now faces even more pressure after a disappointing Premier League performance against Tottenham on the weekend.
Lisandro Martinez started in the heart of the United defence against Spurs and the Argentine defender failed to impress with his overall display at Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old United centre-back slipped up on the halfway line with a poorly timed tackle in the second half and Spurs capitalised on the counterattack.
Footage has now emerged on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, of a crestfallen Martinez after United’s devastating 3-0 defeat to Spurs.
However, Martinez showed true character with his actions after apologising to the fans as he walked off the pitch before heading down the Old Trafford tunnel.
Ten Hag on Man Utd performance
Speaking after the match, Ten Hag admitted that he was disappointed with how United conceded early at Old Trafford after their poor start against Tottenham.
“It was clear we started the game very poor,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“After we concede the goal like we did in the third minute, and you are actually outnumbering [the opposition], and then concede a goal from a counterattack where a centre-half is crossing the whole pitch and then bring, on the goal-line, a cross in and then on the back post tapping in.
“That was our game plan; we should protect that area very good in your best defence in the defensive transition, because we knew the strength and from that point on, we are very stressful in the game and in possession, we didn’t find the spare man in the switch, bad decision-making, we couldn’t keep the ball, not aggressive enough or to play around with third-man actions, too many ball losses and also we didn’t get the press right.
“First 20 minutes was no good but we were still alive and we also had our chances with [Joshua] Zirkzee, with [Alejandro] Garnacho hitting the post, then you can always come back.
“But then the red card, then we are downsized and it also has a big impact in the game.”
