Ayden Heaven has gone from strength to strength since signing for Manchester United at the start of the year.
Manchester United found themselves in a difficult spot last January, needing to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s squad but without having much of a budget to do so.
A £1 million deal for Ayden Heaven was announced towards the end of the window, but the defender from Arsenal’s academy was not exactly a household name.

However, looking back on the deal, United will be absolutely delighted with their business and the 19-year-old defender will already be considered an absolute bargain.

When Heaven was signed, many fans expected he would join up with academy squads alongside previous signings like Chido Obi and Sekou Kone.
However, Wilcox dispelled that idea immediately with his comments around Heaven’s unveiling.

Wilcox clearly had a lot of belief in Heaven being able to immediately step into the first team and impress.
Ayden Heaven is already fulfilling potential at Man Utd
Heaven made his United debut in March, just over a month after joining from Arsenal, and he ended the 2024/25 season with four Premier League appearances.
This season, Heaven has stepped up in the absence of Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt and been excellent for Amorim in the heart of defence.
Heaven has made five consecutive starts in the Premier League, and his performances seem to get better and better each time.

Recently, Heaven starred against Newcastle United, helping the Red Devils to just their second clean sheet of the season.
Amorim has been full of praise for Heaven, not just for his match performances but also for his training and workrate behind the scenes. Wilcox was right, Heaven has an extremely bright future at United.
