Manchester United have already overhauled the coaching staff this summer, but the club aren’t finished yet with another addition now eyed up.
2024 has already seen countless changes in the ranks at Manchester United, and yet Ineos are now eyeing up a further addition.
In the hierarchy of the club, Omar Berrada, Dan Ashworth, Jason Wilcox and Christopher Vivell have all arrived, already to the benefit of the club.
But the changes haven’t just been above the manager, with coaches also being shaken up with Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Rene Hake and Jelle ten Rouwelaar all joining this summer
Now, the latest appointment could be set-piece expert Andreas Georgson who Wilcox has appointed previously.

What Jason Wilcox has previously said about Andreas Georgson
Last summer, Southampton appointed Georgson which was a move by Wilcox to strengthen the club’s set-piece strategy.
Upon appointing the Swede, Wilcox had plenty of complimentary words to say about the set-piece genius while speaking with Saints’ club media.
“Andreas has an excellent understanding of the game model we’re building here, in which set-pieces play an important role.
“He is an expert in what he does and truly eats, sleeps and breathes set pieces, adding another string to our bow within the backroom staff supporting Russell and the team.”
A true expert at set-pieces is exactly what United needs after being poor for a long time at this specific thing. This perfectly explains why Ineos are now keen to implement him at United.
What was Georgson’s impact at Southampton?
Prior to Georgson’s appointment at Southampton, the Saints had an appalling record defensively from corners.
But during their promotion campaign and an impressive unbeaten run which occurred around December time, Southampton’s set-piece fortunes changed and Saints fans credit Georgson with this.
During an unbeaten streak, Southampton conceded just one goa from set-pieces which is a total previously unheard of at the club.
This shows the impact he could have at United and also explains exactly why Ineos want to appoint the current Malmo manager as set-piece general this summer.
