Alejandro Garnacho scored the late goal to send Manchester United into the FA Cup quarter-final in a hard fought win over West Ham.
Fred went on to add another deep into injury time, with United winning 3-1. It was a hard fought win after West Ham had taken the lead.
Garnacho, 18, had given West Ham defender Ben Johnson a tough game throughout the 90 minutes, with the right-back booked in the second half for hauling him down.
Johnson spoke to West Ham’s website after the game and acknowledged the impressive goal scored by the Manchester United winger.

Manchester United stars praised
Johnson said he was disappointed with the way West Ham conceded all three goals, but admitted Garnacho’s strike was ‘great’.
He said: “They scored a great second goal which took it away from us and it’s unfortunate conceding from a set piece and then again in the dying moments.”
The defender went on to add that seeing Manchester United bring Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford off the bench made it really tough for the visitors to hang on.
“They brought on world-class players and you have to defend as well as you can, but sometimes it’s a bit of quality.”
Manchester United’s quality did eventually tell, and it was United’s will to win which also helped get the victory.
Johnson’s comments illustrate how the fear factor is creeping back into Manchester United’s opponents
Erik ten Hag changed his team up, and then had to bring his top stars on, but he insisted after the game that this was always his plan, as he wanted them to keep their intensity levels up.
His decision to leave Alejandro Garnacho on the pitch paid off too, with the winger netting his first competitive goal at Old Trafford.
Johnson added of his frustration: “When we come here it seems like we never get the rewards we deserve in the results.
“We’ve come here a few times and been so close, only to lose goals in the last minute through no fault of anyone.”
