Usain Bolt and Rio Ferdinand are both in agreement about Alejandro Garnacho’s wondergoal in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Everton.
Alejandro Garnacho got Manchester United off to the best start possible and the goal that the 19-year-old scored in Merseyside has got everyone talking.
An overhead kick saw the raucous atmosphere at Goodison Park subside rather quickly and it was the perfect start for the Red Devils, who were expecting a tough encounter against Sean Dyche’s side.
The goal also got Erik ten Hag out of his seat in the director’s box as the 53-year-old was banned from the touchline due to an accumulation of yellow cards.

Bolt and Ferdinand react
The goal will be remembered for years to come and it looks like Usain Bolt and Rio Ferdinand are both in agreement over where the goal will rank at the end of the season.
“Thanks, @agarnacho7, Goal of the Season complete, Ferdinand wrote on his X account.
Sprinter Usain Bolt agreed with the former United defender’s sentiment and wrote on X: “Goal of the season 🔥🔥🔥.”
Ten Hag, speaking to Sky Sports after the win, agreed with Ferdinand and Bolt.
“Probably goal of the season. Also the build-up, not just the finish, was very good. The finish is fantastic,” he told Sky Sports.
“After the start of the game, we were too easy-going. I criticised the team at half-time. They thought they were already there. You can’t do that. You have to do 100 minutes on the pitch. Second half we did very well.”
Garnacho’s moment
United have a habit of scoring overhead kick goals at crucial times. Whether it’s Wayne Rooney’s iconic goal against Manchester City or Dimitar Berbatov’s control and finish against Liverpool, United love scoring acrobatic winners.
The Argentine’s goal was no different and there is certainly an argument to be made that the finish from the 19-year-old was better than Rooney’s and Berbatov’s.
The debate will rage about whether his goal was the best but the confidence will be streaming through not only his veins but the team’s veins as a whole after that win at Goodison Park.
