Manchester United legend Andy Cole has criticised Bruno Fernandes for his constant moaning following Sunday’s defeat to Newcastle United.

Fernandes played the full 90 minutes in what was a lacklustre performance from Erik ten Hag‘s side.

The win for the Magpies saw them jump into third place ahead of United, with Tottenham playing tonight against Everton which could move the Red Devils out of the Champions League spaces for the time being.

There has been much said following the defeat, but Andy Cole specifically homed in on the Portuguese Magnifico, slamming him for his constant moaning which is cropping up game after game.

Andy Cole criticizes Bruno Fernandes

During the first half of the game at St James’ Park, Bruno Fernandes appealed in his usual manner for a penalty, after he thought that Fabian Schar had tripped him up in the box.

The referee, Stuart Atwell, was quick to wave off the appeal, but Fernandes insisted on continuing the process and got right up in the ref’s face.

Legendary striker Andy Cole spoke about this following the game and wasn’t impressed – suggesting that the midfielder was just having another one of his ‘moan ups’.

“Nowhere near a penalty,” Cole told Premier League Productions.

“I think as players we know if it’s a penalty or not because his teammates would be supporting him 100%. It’s not a penalty, but it’s Bruno having another moan up.”

He was also heavily critical of another one of United’s stars in Marcus Rashford, suggesting he was at fault for Callum Wilson’s header that put the Magpies in front.

“If you look at the position Callum Wilson finds himself in for the second goal, he’s dropped his shoulder three or four times. Rashford doesn’t know where he is. You’ve got to give everything to clear that ball, Wilson’s got a clear header.

“It’s bad, bad defending – I’m not here to have a go at anybody but at no stage does Rashford know there’s anybody behind him.”

Hopefully Bruno, Rashford and ultimately United can bounce back quickly, as they face Brentford at home on Wednesday night.
