Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s protracted move to Manchester United is dragging along at a snail’s pace.

Now England are out of the European under-21 Championships, the transfer should start to speed up.

That hasn’t stopped the media from guessing.

Today there is yet more speculation Wan-Bissaka is due for a medical.

The Sun claimed last night it will happen ‘this week’, following similar reports from Goal yesterday, and the MEN.

Meanwhile the club are yet to announce a fee has been agreed with Crystal Palace.

Talk of United getting closer to a deal is encouraging, but the media have been getting this one wrong all week.

It appears Duncan Castles jumped the gun with his exclusive in the Daily Record that United agreed a total £55 million fee for the right-back.

This may well end up being the full amount, but United aren’t there yet.

It’s frustrating, and as fans, the mood has turned to amusement at the media’s guessing game.

If the papers claim every day Wan-Bissaka will have a medical ahead of his move, eventually they will be right, surely?
