Unai Emery has singled out one Manchester United player in particular ahead of Sunday’s game at Villa Park.
Manchester United take on Unai Emery’s Aston Villa today knowing that a defeat to the Midlands side would surely end any hope of the Red Devils qualifying for the Champions League.
United are currently eight points off of Villa and this is a real six-pointer because a victory would cut the gap to five points with 14 games left of the Premier League season.
Last season, Erik ten Hag’s side lost 3-1 in Emery’s first game for the Birmingham side and the hope will be that they don’t repeat this otherwise, Champions League football will be an unlikely task for United.

Emery praises one player in particular
Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game against United, as per The Mirror, Emery has praised one player for the Red Devils and fans may be surprised who he singled out.
“I need to understand their game plan and qualities – trying to stop them from the goalkeeper onwards because his build-up is fantastic,” Emery said about United’s dangerous players.
When he was asked to elaborate about why Andre Onana was so dangerous and such a key player for the Red Devils, the Spaniard said: “He’s a very good goalkeeper.
“The coach knew him from before. When he signed this keeper, it’s because he believed in his potential to adapt here in the Premier League.
“That’s not easy for any player. With some – and we have cases here as well like Moussa Diaby – you are trying to support them, give them confidence. It’s a process. I think with Onana, it could be the same. His skills allow them to be better.”
Onana’s importance
The Cameroon international has received a lot of criticism for his performances in the Champions League but in recent weeks, the 27-year-old has been much more consistent.
He produced a stunning save against West Ham United to preserve United’s lead and the Cameroon international has been much more consistent with his shot-stopping.
As well as this, his passing accuracy has been much more consistent, and having the consistency with his passing makes United’s build-up much better.
