Tyrell Malacia played his final game for Manchester United as a second-half substitute against Brighton.

It was confirmed last week that Tyrell Malacia will leave Manchester United this summer when his contract with the club expires.

Michael Carrick praised Malacia in his end-of-season speech at Old Trafford last week, and in the 3-0 win against Brighton he brought him on for a late cameo.

United fans gave a fitting tribute to Malacia ahead of his exit. Despite his injury-plagued time at the club, he leaves the club in good spirits.

Tyrell Malacia’s time at Man United

It was Erik ten Hag who signed Malacia for £14m back in 2022 – his first signing as manager.

In his first season, Malacia was a key player under Ten Hag, playing a key role in the Premier League and Europa League with 39 appearances across all competitions.

But Malacia was injured for the 2023/24 season, failing to play in a single match.

In the 2024/25 season, Malacia had a failed loan at PSV and only played a minor part in United’s season

Finally, in 2025/26, Malacia has only played 15 minutes of football in the Premier League, with his cameo against Brighton his first appearance since coming on against Newcastle United in March.
