This season has seen Toby Collyer on loan at West Brom and Hull City, now ahead of a potential Manchester United return, he has been discussing teammates.

Once treated as the next big thing by Ruben Amorim and Erik ten Hag, Toby Collyer has since not had the trajectory he would have expected.

Amorim even chose Collyer over Casemiro last season, a situation that has changed dramatically after the Brazilian’s resurgence.

But he is currently set to be back at Manchester United for pre-season, and ahead of this, he’s been talking all things Old Trafford.

Toby Collyer picks out Bruno Fernandes for praise

Collyer has a lot of experience playing for Manchester United already and has featured alongside some of the most talented players at the club.

Speaking with Andy Mitten for The Athletic, Collyer has hailed Casemiro, while also describing why Bruno Fernandes is so good.

“In terms of ability, Bruno [Fernandes]. Some of the stuff he does in training would have me thinking, ‘That’s not normal, I don’t understand it’.

“Obviously, he’s clever, but he does turns where he just finds a pass out of nowhere. It’s incredible.”

Fernandes has previously hailed Collyer, but the young midfielder has made it clear how highly he regards the United captain.

However, this shouldn’t be a shock given Fernandes is often the most hails player in the squad.

Collyer could have Manchester United lifeline this summer

This season, Collyer has impressed for Hull when fit, but the problem has been that he’s barely played due to a steady stream of injuries.

The Hull boss is a vocal supporter of Collyer, and if the midfielder could keep himself fit, there is a chance he would be able to step up and become a star player for the Championship play-off side.

Hull are keen to extend Collyer’s loan, meaning if they win the play-offs, then he might even be playing Premier League football.

However, before he heads back on loan, Collyer is likely to get the chance to stake his claim for a place in the Manchester United squad this summer.

With United’s midfield rebuild set to see pre-season begin with a barren department, perhaps Collyer can prove his worth to the manager.
