Manchester United confirmed the signing of Matheus Cunha this week and it seems Bryan Mbeumo will follow him through the door.
A summer rebuild was a must after Manchester United’s terrible 2024/25 campaign and Ineos are wasting no time getting stuck in.
On Sunday, United confirmed the arrival of Matheus Cunha after a £62.5 million deal was agreed with Premier League side Wolves.
The Red Devils struggled in front of goal last season and Cunha will add extra firepower to Ruben Amorim’s squad, but now United are chasing another Premier League forward in Bryan Mbeumo.
Despite receiving interest from other top-flight clubs, Mbeumo wants to join United and now the only thing standing between him and Old Trafford is a fee being agreed.

How Man United can line up with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo
With Mbeumo nearing a move to Manchester, it seems Amorim will have a new-look front line to play with next season.
Rasmus Hojlund has been linked with an exit, and United will inevitably add another striker to the squad this summer so there could yet be even more changes.
But with Matheus Cunha confirmed and Mbeumo closing in on a move, here are three ways Amorim could line up next season.
Line-up No.1
The first line-up sees Mbeumo play as the right-sided No.10 and Cunha on the left, either side of a central striker – in this case, Joshua Zirkzee.
Bruno Fernandes has rejected Al-Hilal, so the club captain drops deeper into midfield alongside Manuel Ugarte. Amad Diallo still finds a spot in the side at right wing-back.

Line-up No.2
At Wolves, Cunha occasionally played as a striker, and he could fill in up front for United next season too.
If Amorim wants to push Fernandes higher up the field into a No.10 role, he could replace Cunha on the left and push the Brazilian further forward.
That then allows Amorim to go with his preferred midfield combination of Casemiro and Ugarte.

Line-up No.3
Some reports have even claimed that Cunha could play in midfield for United under Amorim, making better use of his dribbling and vision.
It would be a surprise to see Cunha drop so deep, but if United are chasing a game then fans could be treated to a very attacking line-up such as this.
Ugarte would be trusted to carry out most of the defensive work in midfield, with Cunha used as a link to the front three.

Latest update on Bryan Mbeumo to Man United
While Mbeumo has made it clear that joining United is his top priority, the deal is still far from done.
Now, it is down to Ineos to agree a final fee with Brentford for the 25-year-old and reports claim the Bees will hold out for around £60 million.
Given that United are close to their PSR limits, a deal of that size would take a huge bite out of the summer budget and leave United relying on sales for any further incomings.
