Paul Scholes admitted that three ex-Manchester United teammates that he played alongside under Sir Alex Ferguson are the best players of all time in three positions.

Sir Alex Ferguson is widely regarded as one of the best managers of all time and the 83-year-old Scotsman enjoyed incredible silverware success at Old Trafford.

Paul Scholes was asked to name his picks for the best player in the world right now in a certain position and the best footballer of all time in the same role.

Speaking on The Overlap, the 50-year-old former Manchester United star picked fellow Red Devils legend Peter Schmeichel as the best ‘keeper of all time.

Peter Schmeichel was a key part of United’s treble-winning side under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson and he had a sensational impact in the Premier League.

The 61-year-old Dane is widely regarded as one of the best shot-stoppers in Premier League history and one of United’s best-ever ‘keepers in the club’s history.

Fast-forward from the Schmeichel pick and Scholes named former United and England teammate Rio Ferdinand as the best defender of all time.

Rio Ferdinand shared a remarkable partnership with Nemanja Vidic at Old Trafford and the United legend is one of the best Premier League defenders of all time.

Paul Scholes keeps his final pick for Man Utd legend Cristiano Ronaldo and makes a clear call for his position

Along with Rio Ferdinand and Peter Schmeichel, Scholes’ final ex-United teammate that made the segment was none other than Al Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo spent his first United spell at Old Trafford under Ferguson and the 40-year-old Portuguese forward had a sensational impact in the Premier League.

The United legend lifted three Premier League titles, a Champions League, an FA Cup and two League Cups with United before his blockbuster move to Real Madrid.

Despite knowing that the striker role would come up, Scholes said that Ronaldo would be his main pick for winger instead of using him for a direct forward role.

“I’m gonna say Cristiano as a winger,” he said.
