Thierry Henry has already made his feelings clear on Man Utd transfer target Leny Yoro

Manchester United are looking to wrap up a deal for French sensation Leny Yoro, who is tipped as a future international.

Leny Yoro has been undergoing a medical at Manchester United, Sky Sports report, with a view to becoming the club’s second summer signing.

The deal is a major coup for Ineos, who are turning Manchester United from ‘transfer window chumps’ into ‘champs’.

Usually, United get strung along with deals like these, before the player takes the better option, with Real Madrid hovering. This time United convinced Yoro to sign and snub Real.

Leny Yoro is highly rated

There is a reason Real Madrid wanted to sign Leny Yoro, with the defender a standout player in his age group.

At just 18 he has played more than 60 senior games already for Lille, helping them achieve a top four finish.

Former Premier League star Thierry Henry is a big fan of Leny Yoro, speaking earlier this year about the teenager’s potential.

Henry told Le Petit Lillois: “We often talk about Leny. He is having an exemplary start to his career. To establish himself in Lille as he is doing…

“He always has some young reactions, and that is completely normal. It comes slowly. You make mistakes and sometimes you get embarrassed.

“(But) he goes on to play one match after another, he starts quite often and quite often is good. It’s really good for him. He is professional. He’s a good guy, well-educated.

“I like him. He performs well. Afterwards, there are always things to refine, but that’s completely normal. Frankly, it’s really a more than positive progression.”

Rio Ferdinand picked out Leny Yoro too

Henry’s former Premier League opponent Rio Ferdinand has also spoken out to praise Leny Yoro, picking him out as a defender who reminds him of himself.

Speaking on Reddit he said: “A young boy at Lille, Lenny Yoro. He’s going to be one of the best centre backs about as well. I’ve seen similar traits. He’s going to be a top defender.”

Now Yoro will be following in Ferdinand’s footsteps at Old Trafford, a little ahead of schedule, but it is an exciting move.

Early in his career he has made a big impression already on two of the Premier League greats. More will likely be queuing up to praise him next season.
