After a long pre-season which has taken United to countless stadiums, cities and countries, finally Old Trafford beckons.
Manchester United’s Old Trafford return sees a 12:30pm kick-off against Lens, making a welcome change from the times recent games have been played.
The game comes just over 24 hours before United’s final pre-season game against Athletic Bilbao at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
It should in theory see a team line-up and play a solid chunk, with the first-team needing to play a game together.
So far this pre-season barely anyone has played 90 minutes, which needs to change before we play Wolves a week on Monday.
With it being the sides homecoming, we expect a strong line-up.
Here is the XI we want to see v Lens…

Manchester United preferred XI v Lens
The preferred line-up would see Andre Onana start in goal once again, he simply needs to spend more minutes getting used to his defenders.
The defence in question we expect to be strong, with Lisandro Martinez a shoe-in, while we would start Harry Maguire next to him in what could be his final appearance at Old Trafford.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Also with Raphael Varane missing the previous game due to injury concerns, we are unsure if he is ready to play.
On either side of these we see Luke Shaw starting at left-back, then on the right following his top-class display against Borussia Dortmund we want Diogo Dalot to start.
Midfield should line-up fairly similarly to how Erik ten Hag sees his strongest midfield.
That could see Casemiro sitting deep while captain Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount start in the other two midfield slots.
In attack, Rasmus Hojlund won’t be featuring given he is being unveiled prior to the match, but could feature on Sunday.
Therefore we want to see Jadon Sancho on the right, Marcus Rashford up front and hopefully a fit Alejandro Garnacho on the left.
Onana; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Mount, Bruno; Sancho, Rashford, Garnacho
This is the line-up we want to see play Lens, what Ten Hag will go with remains to be seen.
