Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has conducted his pre-match press conference ahead of our second Europa League group stage clash with Omonia Nicosia.

The Red Devils have won back-to-back games since the chastening 6-3 defeat to Manchester City at the start of the month.

The twenty-time league champions followed up our 3-2 win against Omonia with a 2-1 win at Everton on Sunday night.

Ten Hag was asked for an injury update ahead of the Group E game against Neil Lennon’s Cypriot side.

The big news is that Anthony Martial, who was replaced by matchwinner Cristiano Ronaldo just shy of the half hour mark at Goodison Park, has been ruled out.

“Harry Maguire, Donny van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are out,” said Ten Hag.

On Martial: “Not [training] today. We will see how de develops until Sunday.”

United’s number nine only returned to action against City ten days ago, but the former Monaco man picked up a back injury against the Toffees.

The mercurial Frenchman has now picked up three injuries since the former Ajax manager took the reins at Old Trafford.

Maguire, who has been training in Portugal, picked up a thigh injury against Germany last month while both Wan-Bissaka and Van de Beek haven’t featured since coming off the bench in the win against Liverpool, at the end of August.

The clash against Omonia will be our first home game in five weeks, with our last outing at the Theatre of Dreams coming via the 3-1 against Arsenal.

With the top side progressing automatically to the knockout stages of the Europa League next year, the onus is on Ten Hag’s side to stay within touching distance of Real Sociedad.

After losing to the La Liga side in our Group E opener, Ten Hag’s men are three points behind the San Sebastian club with three group stage matches remaining.

The two sides will face one and other in the last game of the group stages on 3 November at the Reale Seguros Stadium.

Teams that finish as runners-up in the groups will meet a third-placed team from the Champions League in a play-off.
