Erik ten Hag has given fitness updates on some key players as Manchester United prepare to travel to the south coast.
Among the stars the boss gave updates on was Raphael Varane. The Frenchman has recently returned from a month-long absence, failing to complete the full 90 minutes against Wolves.
Ten Hag confirmed however that there is no adverse reaction following his comeback appearance, with the 30-year-old fit to play Bournemouth.
“It’s positive on Varane, [he’s] definitely available,” ten Hag said on Friday morning.
Varane had previously been thought to have had his season ended after an injury against Sevilla. However has returned in time for the key point in United’s season.

Ten Hag on Marcus Rashford
The manager also gave an update on key attacker Marcus Rashford who missed the previous game through injury. Ten Hag told press the English forward trained this week however it’s touch and go and likely decided tomorrow.
“Rashy, he trained the whole week but today he reported he doesn’t feel well so he’s ill,” ten Hag said. He continued, “We have to see how he recovers during the day and then see tomorrow.”
Rashford’s return is a huge boost for the Red Devils with a tricky tie against an already safe Bournemouth awaiting. Rashford is United’s top scorer this season with 29.

Ten Hag on Scott McTominay
Scott McTominay is also in contention having not featured since he scored against Everton on April 8th. The Scotsman has been training with ten Hag insisting he is close to a return.
Ten Hag said, “Scott [is] joining in training, I think if the final training goes well he’ll be in.”
This will be a welcome return for United, given Marcel Sabitzer’s season ending knock earlier this week.
