Manchester United made light work of Real Betis with a strong performance against the La Liga side last night.
Spanish teams have caused United problems through the years, but Real Betis might have visited Old Trafford at the worst possible time.
After a shocker of a defeat to Liverpool, Manchester United’s players were burning up with intent for a big win, and they delivered it, with a 4-1 victory over Betis.
It was United’s biggest home win of the season, and left Real Betis on the verge of elimination.

Spanish press praise United
The reaction in Spain to Manchester United’s win saw numerous players praised, with an acceptance Betis were soundly defeated.
AS wrote that Real Betis were ‘shipwrecked’ at Old Trafford with their dream night turning into a ‘nightmare’.
While the report noted David de Gea looked ‘nervous’, there were only positive comments reserved for the rest of the Manchester United team.
Talking up Antony’s superb goal, the report read that the Brazilian ‘showed the world that his left foot is golden’.
The report added that Jadon Sancho‘s arrival gave the Real Betis defence ‘vertigo’, talking up a ‘commanding’ display from Bruno Fernandes.
It also added: “Casemiro seemed like an unstoppable weapon.”
Mundo Deportivo wrote that in the second half “Pellegrini’s men completely succumbed and were at the mercy of the powerful rival in front of them.”
Sport meanwhile suggested the snowy weather may have contributed to Betis’ poor result, and said that United pounced on Betis’ mistakes.
