Marcus Rashford is going from strength to strength at Barcelona, with the latest peak coming in Barcelona’s 6-1 thrashing of Olympiacos.
Starting as a striker, which is a position he’s not entirely comfortable with, nonetheless didn’t let this opportunity go.
He scored twice to continue his hot streak in the Champions League, as he scored a brace against Newcastle as well.
Spanish press deemed Marcus Rashford ‘remarkable’, pointing out his two ‘classy’ moments in the 6-1 thrashing.

Marcus Rashford unstoppable in 6-1 win
Rashford admitted after the game that he doesn’t think No. 9 is his ideal position, something which Thomas Tuchel has revealed too.
However, he is clearly a man on a mission this season, eager to convince Barcelona to sign him permanently, and that was visible from the first minute.
Despite an underwhelming first half in which he was shackled by Olympiacos’ intense press, the sending off freed him and gave him what he treasures the most – space on the field.
The result was a brace and a proper warm-up for the marquee game coming up next – El Clásico against Real Madrid.
Rashford said: “I prefer to play as a winger, but in the end, I can play anywhere to help the team. In the second half, we resolved it with patience and built our play. It was a good match, and we’re ready.
“The game against Madrid is important, that’s why I came. I’m looking forward to it.”
Spanish press in awe of Rashford
Rashford has become somewhat of a favourite of the Spanish press this season, which is quite a compliment because they are notoriously difficult to impress.
However, the Man Utd loanee has done it the best way possible – by making himself undeniable on the pitch with his performances.
The latest one drew rave reviews from the media in Spain, as Mundo Deportivo deemed him ‘Remarkable’, praising his ‘classy’ shots, writing, “He won the penalty that made it 3-1 and delivered two classy, precise shots that prove his signing was a success. More firepower ready for El Clásico.”
AS quoted Rashford’s comments on Hansi Flick, where he credited the coach for demanding ‘intensity’ at all times, a statement which might prompt an eye-roll from Ruben Amorim!
They added Rashford’s role in winning the penalty as well, noting his contribution in setting up the “rout”.
ESPN Spain coined Barcelona’s performance as that of a “steamroller” and an “offensive bulldozer”, one that was majorly driven by Rashford’s performance.
Marca gave a final verdict on his transfer, saying that he doesn’t make ‘much of a splash’ but always contributes something to the team.
They wrote, “The Englishman’s move is also a real coup. Against Olympiacos, he scored two goals and won a penalty. No one doubts the success of his signing anymore.”
That last line will be music to the ears of people at Old Trafford. If no one doubts his signing anymore, they’d better be ready to pay £25m next summer!
