How Spanish media reacted to Marcus Rashford’s El Clasico display
Last week, Spanish media praised Rashford after he impressed as a right winger. He kept his position on the right against Madrid.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo summarised Rashford’s performance as “very good” and wrote: “The English striker once again staked his claim for a place at the club next season with a spectacular free-kick goal.
“It was no small feat. He broke the deadlock in the Clasico and, moreover, he did it from a free kick, something Barca hadn’t managed since October 2014.”
AS wrote: “The free-kick goal he scored to open the scoring already justifies his signing this year. He returned to his position on the right wing, working tirelessly in defense. He had another great chance to score a brace, but Courtois denied him.”
Marca gave Rashford an 8/10 rating for his performance and added: “Flick opted for Rashford on the right wing tonight. He opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a beautiful free kick. He had a chance for a third in the 39th minute, but Courtois got just enough of a touch to deflect it. “

Marcus Rashford’s La Liga stats in title-winning season
Rashford has often had to accept a role off the bench for Barcelona in La Liga this season, but he has still racked up impressive numbers in the process.
The free-kick scored against Madrid was Rashford’s eighth La Liga goal this season, and he has also provided nine assists.
It means Rashford is currently fifth in Barcelona’s top scorer list, behind Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.
There are three games remaining in La Liga for Rashford to build on his stats. As things stand, he is set to return to Old Trafford this summer unless his £26m buy option is triggered by Barcelona.
