Sofyan Amrabat has sent a message to Manchester United supporters after his move to the club was confirmed.

Sofyan Amrabat was unveiled as a Manchester United player, and presented with the vacant number four shirt.

The move came after a lengthy summer ‘will they, won’t they’ saga, with Amrabat’s desire to join the club widely reported, while Manchester United’s intentions were unclear.

Amrabat sends message

Sofyan Amrabat had a message for Manchester United supporters which highlighted how much he is looking forward to playing games for the club.

He wrote on Instagram: “Honoured and so proud to join this huge club, a club full of history and passion!

“It’s a dream to represent this shirt and I will give absolutely everything to defend this badge.

“I can’t wait to step foot on the pitch at the Theatre of Dreams, my new home. Thank you to all the fans for the warm welcome, let’s make this a season to remember!”

Amrabat is at the club on a season long loan, which features an option to buy. He intends for United to be totally convinced by his performances that he is snapped up on a permanent basis, when there is more money available.

The Moroccan’s message is a passionate one, symbolising the type of player he will be on the pitch for the club. United need another player like this in the midfield, helping Casemiro out.

Good luck to Amrabat

Sofyan Amrabat’s message was celebrated on social media by his brother, professional footballer Nordin Amrabat, who had a spell in the Premier League with Watford.

There were also wishes of congratulations from former striker Patrick Kluivert, a player linked with a Manchester United move in the mid-to-late 90s, only to see it never come off.

It is pretty clear already that Sofyan Amrabat’s move to Manchester United has the attention of the football world.

He made a name for himself at the World Cup with Morocco, proving he is capable of producing his best football on the big stage.

At club level there is no bigger stage than the Champions League, which begins with an away tie against Bayern Munich later this month.
