Sofyan Amrabat made his long-awaited Manchester United debut in the Red Devils’ win over Burnley.

Manchester United have had to wait a long time to win a game of football. Three losses and an international break made the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest feel like a long time ago.

Last night Manchester United secured a 1-0 win away at Burnley, thanks to a wonderful goal from Bruno Fernandes.

But it wouldn’t have mattered if it was a scrappy own goal, it was just crucial to get all three points.

Sofyan Amrabat makes debut

Mixed in amid the satisfaction of earning all three points was a debut for deadline day loan signing Sofyan Amrabat, whose start has been delayed by injury.

Amrabat was a late substitute as Manchester United looked to close out the game and secure all three points.

And despite him giving away a late free-kick and showing a little sign of rust, it was a successful introduction for the Moroccan, with United securing the sought-after combination of a clean sheet and win.

Amrabat had a message for supporters on Instagram, writing: “Amazing feeling to make my debut, happy with the win. Thanks for the warm welcome!”

There were congratulatory messages from teammates Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.

First start awaits Amrabat

It was important for Sofyan Amrabat to get some minutes on the pitch, and this week there is an ideal opportunity.

Amrabat has a real chance to be in the starting line-up when Manchester United host Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.

There are not a lot of opportunities to rotate due to injuries, but it is likely Casemiro could get a break, with Amrabat coming in.

If he does well, they could get the chance to pair up in the Premier League next weekend, when United host Palace again.
