Sir Jim Ratcliffe presented three documentary offers

Back in August, it was revealed that Ratcliffe has been keeping a video diary of the work at Old Trafford since his minority takeover was completed in December.

The British billionaire was exploring the possibility of producing a behind-the-scenes documentary and has been collecting footage over the past months.

According to The Sun, United have been “swamped” with offers to make a behind-the-scenes documentary of the club’s planned revival under Ratcliffe.

It includes offers from three of the world’s biggest streaming platforms – Netflix, Amazon and Disney+.

The report adds that United are yet to enter serious negotiations over a documentary series with the ownership currently putting their full focus on improving on-pitch results.

Documentary could earn Man United millions

Fly-on-the-wall documentary series focused on football clubs have become extremely popular in recent years but United have so far stayed away from the trend.

Premier League rivals Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal and Newcastle have all published series following their respective club, and Liverpool are also in the process of selling footage of Jurgen Klopp’s final months at the club.

There is also the very successful Disney series around Wrexham and their Hollywood takeover. A series around United and their takeover would undoubtedly be a hugely popular hit.

It can be a hugely lucrative move for the club, with BBC Sport reporting that Manchester City were paid over £10m after agreeing to do a documentary with Amazon.

There would be huge interest around United and the planned resurgence under Ratcliffe. The hierarchy have reportedly launched ‘Project 150’ with club chiefs eager to win the Premier League title by 2028 – the club’s 150-year anniversary.
