At Manchester United, there are few bigger endorsements than from the great Sir Alex Ferguson. Now one Ineos signing has seen the legendary manager double down.

Sir Alex Ferguson is not one to offer out praise to just anybody for no reason.

Famously, Ferguson claimed he’d only managed four world-class players in winning his incredible 38 trophy haul.

Who is Manchester United’s best manager since Sir Alex Ferguson?

So when Ferguson decides a Manchester United player deserves praise, everyone takes notice, especially when he does it twice.

Now that is exactly what he has done for one player Ineos only signed last summer.

Sir Alex Ferguson doubles down over praise for Senne Lammens

The cheapest signing Manchester United made in the summer also happened to be the one Ferguson is a big fan of. Earlier this season, Ferguson hailed Senne Lammens for his impressive start in goal for the Red Devils.

Now, speaking with Press Box PR, Ferguson has doubled down on this praise for Lammens.

“I think the appointment of the goalkeeper [Senne Lammens] has made a difference. He’s young at 23, he’s quick, a big lad, good feet and hands, and I think that helps.

“I think they have needed that player. United have always had inspirational players over the years. I think that has helped.”

Senne Lammens is a clear upgrade on Altay Bayindir

In addition, Ferguson has touched on two of United’s other signings.

“The other two, [Bryan] Mbeumo and [Matheus] Cunha, they look as if they will contribute to the recovery of our form.”

Senne Lammens deserves more praise at Manchester United

While Lammens is a clear upgrade on Altay Bayindir, which is backed up by the statistics.

Despite looking like a really solid goalkeeper with potential to get even better, Lammens only has one clean sheet in 10 games, which is far from acceptable, but also not really his fault.

Lammens has been keeping plenty of goals out of the net this season, but he can’t help conceding some of the clear cut chances United give up.

The Belgian will only get better and deserves a lot of credit for how he has steadied the ship, not making clear individual errors and offering plenty with his ball-playing.

Ferguson also saw the diamond in the rough with David de Gea and hopefully he’s right about this as well.
