Scott McTominay is living the dream with Napoli following last summer’s exit from Manchester United.
The Scottish international has gone from a spare part under Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford to Antonio Conte’s star player in a title-winning team.
Scott McTominay scored 12 times and provided six assists during Napoli’s campaign which is an impressive tally that has him among elite competition in Europe.
His status as an elite midfielder was confirmed after he won the league title, with McTominay also winning the Serie A Most Valuable Player award for his impressive campaign.
Following the celebrations at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, McTominay praised Napoli fans for giving him everything, which is a stark contrast to how he was treated by Manchester United fans during recent seasons.
Now, United captain Bruno Fernandes has shared a message to McTominay.

McTominay is another Fernandes has been keeping an eye on and after Friday’s celebrations, the Portuguese international sent a message to his former teammate.
Fernandes took to his Instagram story, writing a message of congratulations.
“Congrats my friend”, he wrote with a heart emoji.
“Resilience, discipline and determination have always been there from you! Now with confidence your qualities are shining more than ever. Enjoy your moment.”
The choice of Fernandes’ words is key, with McTominay’s determination among his greatest qualities, and is something the current squad is sorely lacking. He also mentioned confidence, with McTominay’s treatment by Erik ten Hag sure to give him anything but confidence.
McTominay would be a key player for Ruben Amorim right now, and the sale looks like an increasingly bad decision.

For Fernandes, seeing McTominay shine over in Naples, and also Antony at Real Betis, will have him thinking about the happy times he could be experiencing if he were to be playing elsewhere.
There is a trend of players doing much better and winning trophies after leaving Old Trafford, something Fernandes will be increasingly aware of, and it will surely be playing on his mind.
Fernandes has a £700,000-a-week offer from Al-Hilal on the table, which could be an opportunity too good to turn down, particularly with United unlikely to achieve much next season.
This sale would see United pocket £100m, and Fernandes’ agent has already suggested he deserves better, which may mean he wants to play at a club that will be challenging for major honours, even if that is the Saudi Pro League title or the Asian Champions League.
Despite how lucrative it would be and the chance the player wants the move, United are currently ruling out selling Fernandes under any circumstances, but it is still not completely out of the question.
He would join fellow Portuguese pair Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo at Al-Hilal, and it is easy to see why he might be tempted, with the Saudi side also among the best on the continent.
