Manchester United fans were treated to a goal fest in the Carabao Cup against Barnsley.
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United have not been known for scoring a high number of goals, even against lower league opposition.
And this is odd, considering Ten Hag’s Ajax recorded some huge wins, a 13-0 and two 9-0 victories.
Last night Manchester United changed this, beating Barnsley 7-0, while resting key players like Kobbie Mainoo.
A potential future midfield partner for Mainoo was in the stands to watch the game, summer signing Sekou Kone.

Sekou Kone at Old Trafford
Manchester United sealed the signing of Sekou Kone on transfer deadline day, adding the Mali youth international to the club’s books.
Kone, 18, starred at the under-17s World Cup last summer and United beat heavy competition for his signature.
The teenager will initially go into Manchester United’s academy sides, with a view to being promoted to the first team.
And seeing United’s first team win 7-0 against Barnsley will only motivate him further.
Kone shared a picture from the stands at Old Trafford, along with another Sekou, Manchester United academy prospect Sekou Kaba.

Kone is training with Manchester United’s academy and making friends behind the scenes. It is not known whether he is ready to start playing matches.
The under-21s are in action this weekend against City, and it will be interesting to see whether he is named in the matchday squad.
Who is Sekou Kaba
Manchester United agreed a triple deal with Derby County in 2021 to sign three youth player, James Scanlon, Malachi Sharpe, and Sekou Kaba.
Scanlon went on United’s pre-season tour, while Sharpe has been scoring goals for United’s under-21s this season.
Kaba is the youngest of the trio, just 17. The young striker hails from England and is also eligible to play international football for Guinea.
He has two under-18s appearances to his name for United, providing one assist.
