Premier League legend Ryan Giggs has admitted that he does not “see a way back” for four Manchester United first-team players at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim.
Ruben Amorim became Manchester United manager last October after the 40-year-old Portuguese coach left his native homeland and arrived at Old Trafford.
The United manager made a name for himself in Portugal with his head coach spell at Sporting CP and enjoyed a stunning period at the Jose Alvalade Stadium.
Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout after the former United and Ajax manager was sacked by the Premier League club last October.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was temporarily installed as Red Devils interim manager in 2024 after Erik ten Hag was dismissed from United following a poor start to the season.
Amorim did see new additions to the United first-team squad back in February after the Red Devils signed both Ayden Heaven and Patrick Dorgu in the January window.
However, the former Sporting CP boss is tipped to make sweeping changes to the United squad that he inherited from Ten Hag once the summer window opens.

Jadon Sancho was already offloaded from Old Trafford before Ruben Amorim’s arrival, with Chelsea signing the Manchester United winger on loan last summer.
Amorim has since seen other first-team United players leave in the January transfer window, including the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.
Aston Villa signed Marcus Rashford on loan back in February and La Liga outfit Real Betis landed Antony in a six-month loan deal from United in January.
Tyrell Malacia struggled to impress under Amorim after his return from his long-term injury and PSV Eindhoven signed the Dutch left-back on a loan deal in February.
Speaking on the Webby & O’Neill YouTube channel, Ryan Giggs does not think there is a place for Malacia, Rashford, Antony or Jadon Sancho under United boss Amorim.
“I think that’s down to Amorim [selling the four aforementioned Manchester United players,” he said.
“I think he’s already made up his own mind and it might have even been [taken] out of his own hands by the power that be to bring money in to get his kind of player in.”

Marcus Rashford’s Aston Villa spell has seen the United player turn his form around after he fell down the pecking order under Amorim at Old Trafford.
Giggs was assistant manager under Louis van Gaal when the former United head coach handed Villa player Rashford his first-team debut at the Red Devils.
The 51-year-old United legend has said that he did not want to see Rashford leave Old Trafford after the 27-year-old England star rose through the youth academy.
“Marcus leaves a little bit of a sour taste, he is one of our own, he’s come through, he’s done so well when he was first in the team,” Giggs added.
“But he didn’t look happy, he [looked] under pressure and not enjoying his football.
“So, for Marcus’ sake, and you can see him enjoying his football now, I don’t see a way back for any of them.”
United will now return to action on Friday evening, with the Red Devils visiting Stamford Bridge for their Premier League showdown with Chelsea.
