TNT Sports pundit Paul Scholes is fully convinced that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim will never face one thing during his time at Old Trafford.
The 50-year-old Manchester United legend returned for the latest episode of The Overlap’s ‘Fan Debate’ show amid the October international break.
Paul Scholes spoke about his preferred United manager pick if the Red Devils chose to axe head coach Ruben Amorim from the Premier League club this season.
The former England and United midfielder also dropped his two cents on Amorim, who has once again come under intense scrutiny during his time at Old Trafford.
United manager Amorim has experienced a mixed start to the 2025-26 Premier League season and the Red Devils have been inconsistent with their results.

Paul Scholes on Man Utd sacking their managers amid the mounting pressure on Ruben Amorim
Manchester United bounced back against Sunderland and the Red Devils secured all three Premier League points on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford with a 2-0 win.
Amorim had been under pressure going into United’s Premier League encounter with Sunderland after the Red Devils suffered a 3-1 defeat away from home to Brentford.
The 40-year-old United head coach has remained at Old Trafford, despite mounting speculation over his long-term future at the club under the Ineos regime.
Paul Scholes has now suggested that the Red Devils are one of the few Premier League clubs willing to provide “enough time” for a manager before axing them.
“I feel like, sorry, Jamie [Carragher], I feel like we’ve got to the point with him now,” he said.
“Do you know where we don’t want to talk about sacking managers all the time?
“And United, I think they do give managers enough time. I think they give them…”
What Paul Scholes thinks Ruben Amorim will never experience as Man Utd manager, even if results end up going against him
Amorim became the sixth permanent United manager in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era after the Red Devils brought the former Sporting CP head coach to Old Trafford.
The Portuguese coach replaced Erik ten Hag at the Premier League club after the former Ajax and United manager was axed from the Red Devils in 2024.
Scholes has argued that Amorim will “never” find himself on the receiving end of boos from United fans, even if the writing does appear on the wall for his tenure.
“No, they’ll [Man Utd managers] never get booed,” he continued.
“That’s what I’m saying. He’ll [Amorim] never get booed. And the fans, it wasn’t until that Brentford game where I thought this is the period now where it might be.
“He’s getting a little bit too much time. It almost feels like a matter of time before it does come to an end.”
Amorim is under contract with United until 2027 and the ex-Sporting CP manager has not won back-to-back Premier League matches since the start of his reign.
