Manchester United players are on a high after a win over Fulham, and Ruben Amorim brought them back down to earth.
It’s just three away wins for Manchester United for the season in the Premier League, and Ruben Amorim has overseen two of them.
Away trips to London have invariably yielded poor results for Manchester United, although Fulham has often been the exception.
United came away 1-0 winners at Craven Cottage thanks to Lisandro Martinez’s second half strike, also recording a rare clean sheet.

Ruben Amorim birthday message
The win was a perfect present for the head coach, with Ruben Amorim today (January 26) celebrating his 40th birthday.
This was a topic of conversation for Amorim in his post-match press interviews, where he even joked that the Manchester United job had caused him to age an extra decade.
He told a press conference: “It’s not 40…I’m 50! After two months at Manchester United, it’s 50.
He added: “It’s a privilege to spend my 40th birthday here.”
Speaking to MUTV, Amorim added a little more colour on post-match discussions with his players, who jokingly (we think) asked if they could have the day off training, after the win.
Amorim said he shut the requests down, and responded that an extra day of training was his own gift to the players.
He said: “They asked for the day off tomorrow. I didn’t give it, so we are training because it’s my birthday and my gift is to work with the guys who didn’t play.
“It will be fantastic because we won. Then I will have dinner with my kids.”
Amorim has enthusiasm to succeed
Ruben Amorim became the youngest Manchester United coach since Sir Matt Busby when he was appointed in November.
He has the drive Manchester United need in charge, possessing some much-needed resiliency amid the Old Trafford pressure chamber.
United’s training session won’t be a full one, as those who started the game against Fulham will be doing recovery work. But there are plenty still for him to work with.
Amorim has expressed frustration on multiple occasions that the schedule has restricted him from holding full training sessions, as his team prepare for and recover from various fixtures.
