There will be no immediate redemption story for Marcus Rashford against Liverpool at the weekend.

Marcus Rashford ruled out

Ruben Amorim has made clear that Marcus Rashford will not be part of the squad this weekend that travel to Anfield.

Amorim explained: “He’s not trained because he’s ill,” when asked if Rashford was part of his selection plans.

He added: “He is going to be out this week.”

No new Manchester United injury worries

Aside from Marcus Rashford not being available, there are no new injury worries for Ruben Amorim to deal with.

Luke Shaw and Mason Mount remain out with ongoing injury problems, while Tyrell Malacia’s situation is uncertain.

Rashford has been linked with a transfer exit, with rumours emerging suggesting he could even be involved in a swap deal for Victor Osimhen.

There are no immediate agreements on the horizon, with United’s priority at the moment to get through this tough league encounter with leaders and rivals Liverpool.

United are coming off four straight defeats in all competitions, beginning 2025 with tricky away trips to Liverpool and Arsenal.
