Ruben Amorim has explained the reason why Manchester United are suffering fewer injuries this season.
One of the most noticeable positives from Manchester United this season is that the team is suffering fewer injuries than in previous campaigns.
Sky Sports revealed an infographic a week ago, showing that United have had fewer injuries than any other Premier League club this season. Rival clubs Man City and Arsenal topped the list for most injuries.
Before Ruben Amorim’s arrival a year ago, Erik ten Hag’s tenure was heavily impacted by a persistent injury crisis. It was at its worst during his second season at Old Trafford, with over 60 separate cases of injury or illness to senior players.
United fans will hope that fewer injuries will mean better results throughout the season, so long as it continues. The only player ruled out of action right now is Lisandro Martinez, who is due to return in the coming weeks.

Ruben Amorim reveals biggest reason for improved injury record
United are on a four-game unbeaten run, so it’s not only a matter of fewer injuries. The Red Devils have also improved their results.
That is likely to be a knock-on effect of having fewer players out injured.
Amorim will receive a boost when Martinez returns to the defence, although it remains to be seen if Luke Shaw will keep his place in the back three.
These are the type of headaches Amorim will welcome as head coach. The opposite scenario would be not having enough options in defence.
Speaking to reporters ahead of United’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, Amorim revealed why United are suffering from fewer injuries this season.
“Sometimes you have problems with players with knocks. It’s not something… soft tissues, and you never know what’s going to happen in the next training. If you play with intensity in training, anything can happen.
“But I think the big reason is one game every week. You can give an extra day to the players that you know could struggle in the next training, so I think that is the big reason.”
There are fewer demands on the players since there is no European football, but that also makes it difficult for Amorim to give sufficient game time to fringe players.
Tottenham without nine players for Man Utd clash
Tottenham will be without nine players when United travel to London this weekend.
James Maddison will miss the majority of the season with an ACL tear, while other absentees include Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski and defensive duo Ben Davies and Radu Dragusin.
Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma is also out of action, and they will be without new signing Kota Takai.
Hopefully, United can take advantage of Tottenham having so many injuries.
