Ruben Amorim has said that one first-team Manchester United star is “improving the small things” ahead of the Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Sunday.
The Red Devils suffered their 15th Premier League defeat of the season last Sunday after Wolves inflicted a 1-0 win over Manchester United in their clash at Old Trafford.
United currently languish in 14th place in the Premier League table and the Red Devils are level on points with 13th-place Everton and 15th-place Wolves.
Ruben Amorim’s men have only five Premier League matches remaining in their 2024-25 league campaign and United have only picked up 10 wins in the league.
United have only one victory in their last five league matches in the Premier League alone ahead of Bournemouth hosting the Red Devils at the Vitality Stadium.
The Red Devils face a tough test in finishing in the top half of the Premier League table and United’s hopes now hinge on their Europa League campaign.
Amorim’s side are through to the Europa League semi-finals after United knocked Lyon out of the quarter-finals in a thrilling 5-4 win at Old Trafford last Thursday.

Ruben Amorim drops an eye-opening assessment of Rasmus Hojlund’s Man Utd struggles ahead of the Bournemouth encounter
Rasmus Hojlund struggled to make an impact in the final third in Manchester United’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Wolves at Old Trafford last weekend.
Ruben Amorim started the 22-year-old Danish forward and Rasmus Hojlund was largely ineffective in the frontline before he was hooked off in the second half.
Hojlund has only netted three times in 28 Premier League matches for United in the 2024-25 campaign and the Red Devils star has faced heavy criticism over his form.
United manager Amorim has insisted that Hojlund must focus on refining certain aspects on the pitch before the Denmark and United striker will eventually score.
“A striker needs to score goals,” he said at his pre-match press conference on Friday, as per the Manchester Evening News.
“We try to help him and he is trying really hard and he wants things so bad he makes it worse.
“He created one situation against Wolverhampton and he is improving the small things. The goal will come.”
Ruben Amorim makes his position clear about Man Utd’s upcoming performance against Bournemouth in the Premier League
Amorim insisted that he is not playing down the importance of United’s encounter against Bournemouth and what a win would bring to his United first-team squad.
“The focus is we have to face it and we need to have that feeling every game here is important and we have to win every game, important not to lose,” he said.
“Of course, you see the context. We are going to face this game with the best team, we had a full week to prepare, some of the players didn’t play against Wolves, so [recovering] the players is not a bad thing.”
“I will try to prepare for this game and try and win the next one.”
United and Bournemouth’s Premier League clash is slated for 2pm UK time at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.
