Manchester United have a few youngsters currently knocking on the door of Ruben Amorim’s first-team squad.
This season has yet to see an academy breakout at Manchester United; however, all indications point toward this changing very soon.
As United players returned from international duty this week, Ruben Amorim had several wonderkids involved in first-team training.
Across a handful of positions, there are players seen to have the quality needed to make the step up, but for one name in particular, it looks like a matter of time.

What Ruben Amorim thinks of Shea Lacey with Manchester United debut close
This season has seen Shea Lacey finally putting the injury issues behind him, getting his first consistent run of games for years.
The 18-year-old has been impressive, with United’s senior players being impressed by his ability, and so is the coaching staff.
Daily Mail journalist Nathan Salt has now revealed that Amorim is ‘enthused’ by the new Lacey this season, who staff see as playing with the kind of freedom he has been robbed of in recent years.
This is likely a result of Lacey feeling confident in his fitness and, therefore, more willing to take risks and push himself.
Amorim and Lacey have been speaking one-on-one with increasing regularity, and there is a real eagerness to put Lacey into a position to succeed in the ‘very near future’
United in Focus revealed last month that United see Lacey as ready for first-team football, and this looks like an increasingly likely scenario.
Shea Lacey is only just getting started for United
Lacey’s first-team promotion has been years in the making, as 18 months ago, he looked close to earning a debut.
However, the injury problems put this on pause as he suffered setback after setback, which explains why United have been patient with him.
Lacey will still only be finding his match fitness and therefore his top level is likely yet to be seen, with his ultimate potential being a world-class player.
Thomas Tuchel is already watching Lacey at England, and all signs indicate that the start of Lacey’s senior career is just around the corner. United’s next Carrington star is almost here.
