Roy Keane is one of Manchester United’s biggest critics, and he’s managed to describe the real problems of the Red Devils’ 24/25 season in just three words.

It was a tough season to be a Manchester United supporter. The Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League, lost the Europa League final to Spurs, and ultimately, had their worst campaign in modern history.

Ruben Amorim has ensured things will get better for United, but now his side face a long, uncertain summer. United need signings, but aside from Matheus Cunha who looks Old Trafford-bound, the uncertainty surrounding the club may deter potential suitors.

The 24/25 campaign will have a ripple effect for years to come – and it’s perfectly summed up by the ever-eloquent Roy Keane.

Roy Keane describes Manchester United’s season as ‘the biggest disappointment’

Speaking on Sky Sports’ official TikTok account, Keane and Jamie Redknapp were tasked to sum up each of the Premier League sides’ seasons in just one word.

Keane obviously took the reins for United, but couldn’t muster just one word, instead using three – ‘the biggest disappointment’.

“United have been the biggest disappointment, haven’t they? Keane began. “Out of all the teams, even the teams that United beat.”

Keane pondered: “Oh my goodness, how many words could you use? Underachievers… don’t compete week in and week out.”

The Manchester United legend eventually settled on: “United for me are ‘the biggest disappointment’ of all the teams. All the teams in the league.”

Keane also spoke about the future of the club on Sky Sports. He claimed that United “can’t be any worse next year” and “United are easy to play against”, plus “easy to beat”.

If it did get any worse for Manchester United, the Red Devils would be facing relegation in the 25/26 campaign.

A club of United’s magnitude should be nowhere near the drop zone, so let’s hope this dreadful season can be put behind them – and never spoken about again.
