Manchester United legend Roy Keane shared his verdict on Marcus Rashford after the Barcelona summer signing’s performance for England against Albania on Sunday.
Marcus Rashford was able to climb back into the England side during the 2024-25 Premier League campaign during his run of form while on loan at Aston Villa.
Which Man Utd player has most chance of playing for England at the World Cup?
The 28-year-old on-loan Manchester United forward has been able to keep himself part of Thomas Tuchel’s 2026 World Cup plans with the England national team.
Rashford’s Barcelona spell has seen the Red Devils talent find a new opportunity away from Old Trafford and he has impressed at the Camp Nou this summer.
England boss Thomas Tuchel called up Rashford for the Three Lions squad for the November international break and the Barcelona summer signing had an impact.

Roy Keane’s prediction is clear about Man Utd attacker Marcus Rashford after his England display in the 2-0 win over Albania
England won all eight of their World Cup qualifiers and a brace from Three Lions skipper Harry Kane sealed the latest victory for Thomas Tuchel’s men on Sunday.
Marcus Rashford was subbed on in the second half and the Manchester United player set up Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane for England’s second of the tie.
Speaking on ITV Sport, Roy Keane has predicted that Marcus Rashford should be starting at the 2026 World Cup for England under Three Lions manager Tuchel.
“It’s a strong-looking [England] team [for the World Cup],” he said, as per the Metro.
“There’s probably a few positions up for grabs. I still think [it should be] Rashford and O’Reilly, but people can build up relationships.
“We saw that the other night and that can happen over the next few months.”
Roy Keane’s Marcus Rashford prediction is reinforced by what the Man Utd icon saw from England talent Nico O’Reilly
Nico O’Reilly came through the Manchester City academy and the 20-year-old England talent made his Three Lions debut during the November break.
The Manchester City starlet, who can play as a midfielder or as a left-back, played the full 90 minutes in England’s World Cup qualifying wins over Serbia and Albania.
United legend Keane feels that the link-up between Nico O’Reilly and Rashford on the left side is the perfect set-up for England for next summer’s World Cup.
“[Myles] Lewis-Skelly, I still think he is a good player [for England] if he can get back into the first team at Arsenal,” he continued.
“Really good options. [O’Reilly] is playing for a brilliant team at Man City under a brilliant coach, so he’s got into very good habits.
“Sometimes players just click together. There’s nice chemistry between them [O’Reilly and Rashford]. There’s a nice energy.”
England already punched their ticket to the 2026 World Cup, which is hosted in North America, in October after they defeated Latvia in their Group K clash.
