Manchester United legend Roy Keane revealed who he would prefer to play under out of Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, with Ian Wright agreeing with his personal pick.

Keane excelled during his prolific playing career at United under Sir Alex Ferguson, despite falling out with the ex-legendary manager at the tail end of his spell.

The 52-year-old Irishman was widely praised for his exemplary leadership skills as captain of United, with Keane also admired for his incredible midfield influence.

Keane has admitted that he regretted not playing abroad in his career, saying that two elite European clubs were once linked with him when he was at United.

The Sky Sports pundit briefly played for Celtic after his spell at Old Trafford came to an abrupt end, but Keane has since opened up over his one regret in doing so.

Keane, who recently opened up on his relationship with Ferguson at United, didn’t hesitate when he was asked about playing under Klopp or Guardiola.

Keane on playing under Klopp or Guardiola

Speaking on The Overlap, Keane appeared alongside fellow Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher as well as Arsenal legend Ian Wright.

Neville asked the trio who they would play under out of Klopp and Guardiola, with both Wright and Carragher opting for the Liverpool boss.

While Keane insisted that Klopp is “obviously brilliant,” the former United captain went for Guardiola and revealed what role he would play under the City manager.

Wright immediately reacted to Keane’s pick and admitted that he could see him playing under Guardiola, with Neville probing his former United teammate further.

“I’d say Pep. Yeah, I can see [it],” Keane said.

“That sitting midfielder. I’d be there sitting midfielder. Obviously, Pep used to play [there] himself. I think I would enjoy working under Pep.

“Listen, I think Klopp is obviously brilliant, great personality for the game, you can see why players love playing for him, but maybe I’d just sneak for Pep.”

Who did Neville pick out of Klopp and Guardiola?

Keane was alone in his selection of Guardiola, with Neville opting for Klopp alongside Carragher and Wright.

Despite answering the question before, Neville explained that he went for Klopp over Guardiola due to the football style that the Liverpool manager plays.

“I mean, I’ve answered this before and I’ve said Jurgen Klopp,” Neville said.

“Purely for the football. I suppose his personality and character, but the football for me is the style of football I like.”
