Speaking on Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher admitted that he still cannot see United finishing in the Premier League top four in the 2025-26 campaign.

“I don’t think they’ll finish in the top four, but they need to get into Europe,” he said.
The 47-year-old Sky Sports pundit added that he does not feel Ruben Amorim’s United first-team squad is equipped to meet the demands of the Champions League.
“The bar has been set so low after last season,” Carragher added.
“They spent a good chunk of change in the summer. They should be where they are in the table, qualifying for Europe. The Champions League would be a step too far.”

United will sign off 2025 with their final match at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening, with the Red Devils hosting Wolves for an 8:15pm kick-off time in the UK.

“I’m not convinced,” he said.
“[Amorim] got a pre-season and signings, they have no Europe, but they are still not showing it.
“We are still waiting. The question marks are still there for me. We talk about [the] top four, but they are not ready for that.”
The Red Devils have won eight and lost five of their 18 Premier League matches under United manager Amorim in the 2025-26 campaign so far.
