Manchester United have now prioritised getting a new deal for Facundo Pellistri over the line, as the right wing position faces uncertainty.
The right-wing department at Old Trafford has been halved over the past few weeks.
Jadon Sancho‘s future looks incredibly cloudy following a public spat with Erik ten Hag which has rumours of his departure swirling.
Along with this, Antony won’t be playing for the foreseeable future, as he takes time to address the allegations made against him in Brazil.
These two situations has left the door wide open for the young Uruguayan, Facundo Pellistri, to get a consistent run in the team.
This is something which many fans have been begging for in recent months as he consistently impresses in his cameos.

Facundo Pellistri in line for new deal
Due to his increased importance, it is believed that expected contract talks with the Uruguay international will be sped up.
Fabrizio Romano insisting that a new deal for the 21-year-old has become of the upmost importance.

He posted on X: “Understand Manchester United now consider Facundo Pellistri’s new deal one of the priorities as talks already took place in April and during the summer.”
He then added that talks are set to advance soon over a new long term deal, which likely would tie him down until 2028 at least.
Set to become a key player for Erik ten Hag
With the absence of multiple wingers, and the current injury to Amad Diallo, Pellistri could be about to become a key player for Erik ten Hag.
The arrival of regular first-team football for Pellistri is probably long overdue given his impact in limited minutes.
He is a fully fledged international for Uruguay and has proved he can play senior football at a Hugh level in the World Cup last season.
We get the impression that with a run in the first-team, Pellistri won’t look back and could establish himself as a key player very quickly.
