Manchester United are now over in the United States ramping up training efforts ahead of the new season.
After two full weeks at Carrington and a pre-season opener against Leeds, Manchester United’s pre-season is already three weeks in, with players looking increasingly sharp.
Ruben Amorim can be forgiven for a disappointing display in Stockholm, with game one of pre-season only really intended to build fitness. There were positives to take, with United’s respective teams improving as their half went on.
Matheus Cunha was very impressive on his unofficial debut for the club, showing multiple moments of magic in his 45 minutes, but more is expected.
This week, all eyes were on Bryan Mbeumo in training for United, where he could be spotted with a massive smile on his face as he got to know his teammates.
However, now it is another player who has impressed during the first session in Chicago.

Rio Ferdinand reacts to spectacular Kobbie Mainoo goal in Manchester United training
Ahead of Saturday nights pre-season clash with West Ham at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United are in Chicago training hard to get up to fitness.
United released footage of this training session on YouTube, with some superb goals being scored throughout the session by several players including Rasmus Hojlund.
In the comments of the video, Rio Ferdinand reacted to a goal scored by Kobbie Mainoo during the training clip, which was pure magic.
Ferdinand wrote from his ‘Rio Ferdinand Presents’ channel: “That finish from Kobbie”, followed by a exhaling emoji that symbolises ‘wow’ when placed in this context.
The strike was a very special one, as Mainoo controlled a cross with his chest before volleying it into the far top corner with incredible precision and technique.
Kobbie Mainoo set for huge season at Manchester United
There is so much excitement this summer over the new signings being made by Manchester United, but we cannot forget the talent already possessed by the club.
Mainoo is in that bracket, having had a frustrating 2024/25 season, he looks back to his very best.
Against Leeds, Mainoo demonstrated an improved passing range which is massive for his all-around game as a midfielder.
Meanwhile, Mainoo has also returned from pre-season looking lean like he did during his breakout campaign, which bodes well for him raising levels this season.
United and Mainoo remain in contract talks despite Tottenham and others circling, but if Mainoo continues impressing, Ineos will surely give him all his demands.
