Rio Ferdinand has now revealed his true feelings on Manchester United before the Red Devils secured their Premier League win over Sunderland at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim saw a bounce back from his Premier League side ahead of the October international break, with Manchester United picking up all three points.
Mason Mount broke the deadlock inside the opening 10 minutes at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon before Benjamin Sesko found the back of the net for United.
United were 2-0 up against Sunderland going into the half-time break in the Premier League clash, with the Red Devils holding on to their lead in the second half.
Sunderland failed to rally back against United on the weekend and Ruben Amorim eased the pressure on his shoulders going into the October international break.

Rio Ferdinand keeps it real with what was on his mind for Man Utd’s Premier League win over Sunderland
Manchester United had lost 3-1 to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium last month ahead of hosting Sunderland in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils’ sporadic run of form at the start of their 2025-26 Premier League campaign had placed mounting pressure on United manager Ruben Amorim.
However, the Red Devils’ strong showing against Sunderland alleviated some of the noise around Amorim’s future after United’s defeat to Brentford in September.
Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he felt that Ineos could have found themselves in a “difficult conversation” about Amorim if United had failed to beat Sunderland.
“I think there would have been serious conversations being had if they had not beaten Sunderland,” he said on his ‘Rio Ferdinand Presents’ YouTube channel.
“I didn’t want to say it before the game, but after the result the previous week, if they had lost to Sunderland, I think it would’ve been a difficult conversation for Ineos to not consider relieving him of his duties.”
Rio Ferdinand sends a warning to Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim ahead of the Premier League match against Liverpool
United have picked up three wins from their opening seven Premier League fixtures in the 2025-26 season under Amorim and have lost twice in the league so far.
Amorim has a major test ahead of him with United’s trip to Anfield to face defending Premier League champions Liverpool after the October international break.
Speaking on United and Amorim, Ferdinand added: “He’s got to live another day, that’s what we’ve been talking about, ‘Can you get some results? Can you find some consistency?’
“In an ideal world, performances will be key in that, but I don’t think we’re in a position to be worrying about performances; you need to get points on the board, get the team getting momentum and getting up the league.”
United are 10th in the Premier League table and the Red Devils are five points adrift from fierce rivals Liverpool ahead of their showdown on 19th August.
