Manchester United have claimed bragging rights after coming from behind to beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Ruben Amorim went into his first Manchester derby with real hopes of securing a victory at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester United may have lost to Nottingham Forest and Arsenal before an unconvincing win at Bodo/Glimt, but Manchester City have been far from their best.
It looked like a rather lucky goal would win it for City on Sunday as Josko Gvardiol’s header from a deflected cross made it 1-0.
United left it late but Amad Diallo turned the game on its head, first winning a penalty for Bruno Fernandes to score.
Amad made himself the derby day hero with a dramatic winner as United produced an incredible late turnaround.

Ruben Amorim stat makes Manchester United win even sweeter
This was the first real statement win of the Amorim era and doing at the Etihad Stadium just makes it even more special for United fans.
United’s win means the recent struggles for City continue and Amorim has brought up a remarkable statistic.
Amorim beat Pep Guardiola’s City with Sporting in November, just days before heading to start work at United.
Amorim has now beaten Guardiola again with an aggregate score of 6-2 in Amorim’s favour across their two games this season.
The result means that City have now lost eight of the last 11 games in all competitions – and Amorim has actually won more games involving Manchester City in that run than Guardiola.
As noted by The Athletic’s Colin Millar, Guardiola has won just one of his last 11 in all competitions whereas Amorim has now claimed two wins in that 11-game City run.
That just makes Sunday’s win every sweeter with Amorim now only claiming a big win, but making City’s slump even worse – and even more embarrassing for Guardiola.
This kind of statistic would have been unthinkable just a few months ago but City are struggling badly and Amorim has now taken full advantage not once, but twice.
Manchester United rack up another derby win
Amorim’s victory is his second as a Premier League boss and it boosts United’s overall record against City.
This was United’s 195th meeting with City across all competitions – and the win at the Etihad Stadium was United’s 80th.
City have won 61 over the years, certainly boosting their record in recent years under Guardiola.
There have been 54 draws too, with United still well clear in the head-to-head against City after picking up Sunday’s win.
