Real Madrid confirm Casemiro sale to Manchester United in emotional statement, and announce tribute plan

Real Madrid have announced the sale of Casemiro to Manchester United, along with the Red Devils confirming the deal.

An emotional statement from the Spanish giants paid tribute the the Brazil international, who helped them win five Champions League trophies during his time at the club.

The statement pays tribute to Casemiro’s professionalism and ability, who will always be welcome back at Real.

United have announced a deal in principle pending a medical and visa approval.

The Real Madrid statement published this evening reads: “Real Madrid would like to express its gratitude and affection for Casemiro, a player who is already part of the legend of this club.

“Casemiro has been one of the most transcendental players in one of the most important and successful periods in our history.

“In addition to this brilliant record, Casemiro will always represent the values ​​of our club. An exemplary player who has given everything for Real Madrid.

“Real Madrid is and will always be his home, and he wishes him and his whole family the best of luck in this new stage of his life.”

Real Madrid plan Casemiro tribute

Real also plan a tribute to Casemiro, and suggest he may still be in Madrid next Monday for a proper goodbye presentation. It’s a classy move and shows how highly he is valued.

The statement reads: “Next Monday, August 22, at 11:30 a.m., an institutional act of homage and farewell to Casemiro will take place at Real Madrid City, with the presence of our president Florentino Pérez.

“Following this act, Casemiro will appear before the media in the press room at Real Madrid City.”

Casemiro could attend the presentation and fly to Manchester to watch the game on Monday night against Liverpool. He is first expected in the UK to undergo a medical at the weekend.
