Rasmus Hojlund has admitted that he is relishing the “support” that one Manchester United star and himself are offering one another under Ruben Amorim.

The 22-year-old Denmark striker finally ended his 21-match goalscoring drought in Manchester United’s Premier League win over Leicester City on Sunday evening.

Bruno Fernandes played Rasmus Hojlund through in the first half and the struggling United striker broke the deadlock against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Hojlund’s first-half opener against the Foxes was the first time that the Danish forward had found the back of the net for the Red Devils in 2025.

The Red Devils star has only scored three times in 24 Premier League matches and Hojlund has netted five times in 10 Europa League matches for United this season.

Alejandro Garnacho scored the Red Devils’ second at the King Power Stadium before Bruno Fernandes netted for United and sealed all three points for his side.

What Rasmus Hojlund has noticed from Man Utd teammate Joshua Zirkzee

Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee, much like Rasmus Hojlund, has been met with criticism over his lack of goalscoring output in his debut season at Old Trafford.

Joshua Zirkzee was signed from Serie A outfit Bologna last summer and the 23-year-old Dutch forward has only scored three times in 29 Premier League matches.

However, the Netherlands striker has been praised for his link-up play and has played in one of the two No 10 roles in Ruben Amorim’s tactical system.

Zirkzee came off the bench in the second half and replaced Christian Eriksen as one of the No 10s in United’s victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Speaking after the result, Hojlund insisted that he is enjoying playing together with Zirkzee and described the Netherlands international as a “lovely lad.”

“We didn’t get to play too much together in the beginning of the season, but now he’s starting to play in a different sort of role or position and he can still do the other part, but playing together with him is very nice,” he told The National.

“He’s a lovely lad and, yeah, I think competition is a good thing, but I think we also support each other’s qualities very well.”

What Ruben Amorim said about Man Utd striker Rasmus Hojlund after Leicester City win

United manager Amorim has kept faith with Hojlund amid his goalscoring woes and has insisted that the Danish striker’s full “confidence” will come back.

“It is a difficult goal, a difficult control [with] the right foot,” he said after the match.

“So, it’s a shame we are going to stop for [the] national teams. But he will return with confidence.

“It’s [also] just one win away and we have to continue when we return.”

United are 13th in the Premier League table and the Red Devils are three points clear of 14th-place Tottenham going into the March international break.
